SEASONAL CHROMA: THE TREND THAT MAKES COLOR MAKE SENSE

At Pencil Factory by JOVI Cosmetics, we are constantly analyzing trends—not just to understand what’s happening, but to turn them into real concepts that our clients can actually bring to life.

Because spotting a trend is easy. What’s difficult is turning it into a product that is clear, coherent, and ready to perform. Seasonal colour analysis is one of those cases… Introducing Seasonal Chroma.

It’s everywhere. On social media, in beauty content, in conversations about which colours suit you best. You’ve probably seen it: “What season am I?”, “this shade brightens me”, “this one washes me out”.

Seasonal colour analysis is based on a very simple idea: not all colours work the same on everyone. It looks at skin tone, eye colour, and hair to identify which colour palette harmonizes best with each person. From there, it is organized into four groups: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

It also introduces something very powerful: a sense of belonging. We no longer just see products—we recognize ourselves within a category. We know which colours feel like “ours”.

And when that happens, everything becomes easier. There’s less hesitation, more confidence, and a much more natural connection with the product.

Based on this logic, at Pencil Factory by JOVI Cosmetics we have developed Seasonal Chroma: a concept that transforms this trend into a clear, easy-to-understand launch, ready to be activated at brand level.

The collection is organized into four chromatic universes—Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn—each built around a specific harmony. From high-contrast profiles to softer or warmer palettes, each season creates a clear and recognizable visual language.

Winter – Chroma Bold

High-contrast profiles, where the difference between skin, hair, and eyes is very pronounced. Typically featuring very light or deep skin tones with cool undertones, dark hair (dark brown or black), and intense eyes such as blue, black, or deep brown.

These features can handle strong, defined colours. For this reason, the selected shades have been designed to enhance this natural intensity:

  • Intense pink (lipliner): adds definition and focus, creating a strong focal point without losing sophistication.
  • Deep burgundy (eyeliner): brings depth to the eyes, creating a more dramatic and elegant effect.
  • Cool taupe (eyeliner): acts as a balancing tone, softening the overall look and allowing more versatile transitions.

Spring – Luminous Bloom

Profiles with a warm and luminous appearance, where light and golden tones dominate. Skin usually has warm undertones with peachy nuances, hair is blonde, golden, or light brown, and eyes tend to be light (green, blue, or honey).

The most flattering shades are warm, fresh, and radiant. That’s why the colour selection reflects this brightness:

  • Warm coral (lipliner): adds a natural, healthy touch of colour, enhancing the complexion without overpowering the look.
  • Olive green (eyeliner): introduces a soft contrast while maintaining overall harmony.
  • Luminous gold (eyeliner): brings light and dimension, enhancing the radiant effect of this season.

Summer – Soft Veil

Low-contrast profiles with a soft, slightly muted harmony. Skin tends to have cool or neutral undertones, hair falls into ash or soft brown tones, and eyes are soft blue, grey, or muted green.

The most suitable shades are cool, soft, and powdery. The selection has been designed to respect this delicacy:

  • Mauve pink (lipliner): adds a subtle touch of colour, naturally enhancing the lips.
  • Deep blue (eyeliner): defines the eyes in a controlled way, adding depth without breaking harmony.
  • Pearly pink (eyeliner): brings light and softness, enhancing the ethereal finish.

Autumn – Earthbound

Profiles with a warm and deep appearance, where colours are richer and more intense. Skin has warm or golden undertones, hair is often brown, copper, or red, and eyes are green, hazel, or warm brown.

The most flattering shades are warm, earthy, and enveloping. The selection reinforces this depth:

  • Deep brown (lipliner): defines the lips with a natural yet intense finish, adding structure without losing harmony.
  • Warm brown (eyeliner): softly defines the eyes, enhancing natural tones without creating harsh contrast.
  • Metallic copper (eyeliner): adds light and dimension, creating warm reflections and a more sensorial finish.
